In:Most - Bonsai - Soulvent Records / SV055

Marking their fifth release on the imprint, the dynamic duo that is In:Most are back on Soulvent with another pair of bangers for your listening pleasure. Continuing to roll out their Jekyll & Hyde-esque couplings of late – this release showcases the ever-maturing sound of this Cambridge based duo. Bailey Greer and Josh Croft have been extra busy of late, reviving the famed Spoonfed d&b night at the Fez Club in their hometown, after a 5 year hiatus. We strongly recommend you get down to one of these shows in the coming months!

Bonsai further develops the sound the pair have been perfecting since tracks like Yesterday, Pieces and Crimson Eyes. Inviting pads and pianos ease us into a kinetic, fluid arpeggio which forms the backbone of the track. Frangible breaks coupled with tasty bass swells accentuate this driving track, while a syncopated take on the lead switches up the end of the track.

Fade Out features the vocals of Hybrid Minds’ go-to-mic-man Tempza, alongside Northern up-and-comer Walk:r, (who’s name should certainly be on your radar!). A spacey, ominous intro teases tear-out bass synths which don’t disappoint on the drop. Swelling, punctuated textures of low-end are interspersed with dynamic patterns of varying percussion and glitched-out fills. The second drop further fleshes out the theme, with unsettling samples underlining the track’s tech-driven foundations.
