Conrad Subs - Champagne Roller / What The Streets Say - Twist Recordings / TWIST005

Deep In The Jungle, Co-Lab, Jungle Cakes, Natty Dub... the list of labels Conrad Subs has released on is longer than a broken C90 tape so it comes as no surprise to see him land on Twist Recordings. With a Juno Download top selling EP under their belt, this double A side jump up smasher promises more online success for this relatively new outfit.

‘Champagne Roller’ is nothing short of a mash-up of styles in one tidy package. Its bassline riff could well be a nod to the 2007 era; a time where Clipz and Die changed the soundscape of the scene indefinitely. Coupled with fantastically sharp drum programming and sneaky FX, this one is easily slid into a DJ set to switch up the vibe in an instant.

What are the streets saying these days? If you keep your ear close to the ground, it’s pretty obvious that the flip of this release is a certified banger and that’s coming from all corners of the globe. If ‘What the Streets Say’ doesn’t go top 10 within a day, the drum & bass community is off their rocker! Conrad Subs launches an onslaught on the senses with an almost fog horn esc bassline (yeah, remember that era..) that will have you ripping down the dance floor in seconds. Who’s double dropping this one first?
