Trust Audio presents Covert Garden with 'Rude' & on the flip, his remix of one of Trusts early releases by Trex, 'Murphy'sLaw.'
Covert Garden has released music on labels such as Ram, ProgRam, Prototype, Fokuz and Technique, to name a few as well as his own label, simply called 'Covert Garden.' With support coming from Andy C, Randall, Dillinja, Grooverider, Noisia, S.P.Y, Halogenix & Trex plus BBC Radio1, 1xtra, Kiss FM, Rinse FM & Mixmag awarding his first release on hisown imprint as single of the month, needless to say the mans talent & pedigree is not to be understated.
Covert has worked with Trust before with his sublime remix of Trex's 'Dub Pirates' which is a perfect analogy to describe the Covert sound, sublime!
This release starts with 'Rude' which teases you at the intro with an almost steel drum sounding note progression & doublebass punches before the distinctive Covert drums & gnarly low end drops. Intertwining with a quirky bassline riff & melancholic sound effects that keep you guessing & vibing in equal measure. A rollers pursuit into avantgarde DnB terrain, Covert Garden is in his own lane.
Next up & we're onto the Covert Garden remix of Trex's 'Murphy's Law.' The drums go on militant like a marching platoon & has that raw energy thats so intoxicating. Abstract bass hits with the trademark subs & sublime soundscapes arehypnotising throughout, plus a subtle sample from jungle days past, to complete the quest. This is no simple rework or VIP type of remix, this is a whole new concept, you can hear the original in there but just totally reinvented...on the double, one for the soldiers!
Classy stuff from the London based producer & Trust are positively on a mission this year.
