A fresh face amongst his counterparts, Cryptic State makes himself heard through his next output and both ‘Diabolo’ and ‘Embershot’ present two sides of the same flavour, one which he’s steadily built before showcasing his work to the world. ‘Diabolo’ is the starter, a track which drops into gear before punching forward with throbbing bass slabs and rolling, ticking percussion. On the flip, you’re given ‘Embershot’. ‘Embershot’ is just as winding, dropping in and out of its static LFOs and rolling beat patterns. There’s a melodic twist to every thumping peddle of beats and this aids the mix by giving it a heavier impact. Both tracks merge to fashion an identity for the growing profile of Cryptic State. He’s not afraid to show ProtoCode’s audience what he has in store and his ascent will be quick, especially if this part of his catalogue is anything to go by.
