Who’s ready for this one, Isenberg makes his debut on Jungle Cakes with an absolutely stellar release. The ‘Star Runner’ EP is 5 tracks of expertly produced high energy jungle and drum and bass.

First up is ‘Bolero Dub’, a brilliantly smooth track with snappy drum work that drives things forwards, a low end that is as heavy as it is gentle, and beautifully melodic vocal and horn samples that take the track to a new level. Next up is the title track, which comes in hot with ethereal pads and synths, alongside raucous amen chops, a ragga vocal sample, and heavy bass lines. For the third track, ‘Ms. Behave’, Isenberg and Milazzo lay down thrashing jungle breaks, moody bass, and funky synths and pads. The second to last cut, ‘Goin Up’ does exactly that with euphoric pads, warping FX and bass lines, time-stretched vocal samples, and hardcore drum drum breaks that will have you headbanging all the way into next week. Last but not least is ‘Wave Race’, which closes up proceedings, with cosmic and melodic pads and synths, punchy drum breaks, junglist FX and samples, and a deep sub that will have your chest thumping.

This a serious one from the Texan newcomer, with infallible production flair and in your face high energy. Each one of these tracks is bound to get the crowd moving, do not sleep on this.
