One thing that can't be disputed about #JPath's production is his ability to lay out a story amongst every composition he pulls together. His forthcoming EP through #ConfucianSound is the perfect example of this, displaying the elements which have enabled his name to become more prominent in recent years, as well as the incredible standard of engineering which he boasts from track to track. With an intricacy that is difficult for many other newcomer artists to explore, as well as a weight that penetrates club speaker stacks, #JPath proves himself against his counterparts. Alongside #ConfucianSound, a label which has committed itself to going against the tide of commercialism and concentrate on the artists who have made their place within the underground scene, he's again proving to be an unstoppable force. So, prepare yourself to be once more to be introduced to the soundscape of #JPath through his "#AirCastle" EP. #JPath joins names like #Xeomi, Jevy and Ovzerver on #Confucian, highlighting that the imprint is drawing for an army of hotly tipped newcomers for their roster. #AirCastle, with its skipping beats and grooving bass rhythms is an example of just how eclectic this roster really is. Melodies seep in throughout, in between each hook, as it takes its listener along for the ride. Xeomi then joins #JPath on Thrasher, with the two bringing together each of their meticulous structuring for a track which doesn't lack bite. Go-N-Modulate streams through next, with waif-like vocals moulded to fit its ethereal atmospherics, before you're taken step by step up into its first breakdown, something which slams into play with ticking drums. Then finally comes #RandomRitual, moving through with the same expert precision as the rest of the EP on top of slow arpeggio and ghost-like sampling. Together and individually, each track defines the production might of #JPath, as well as the artists which #Confucian have asked to join their army. It also signals the strength of #JPath's musicality and nods at what's to come from the producer over the next year.
