Jinx & Kalum- Rubber Bands EP- Straight Up Audio / SUA019

Straight Up Audio is back on the attack. A flurry of top shelf audio onslaughts have been welcomed by our ears in 2023 and the label is just not holding back with yet more fodder to get you in a twist.

This time around we seek solace in a super-collaboration of the minds.

Head honcho Jinx invites one of his friends. the Incomparable. Kalum for a little junglist tea party of sorts while flicking rubber bands at each other's heads during the mixdown process.

Jinx for obvious reasons needs no introduction, He's been a permanent fixture across the UK with bookings far and wide from Boomtown to Glastonbury and beyond.

Kalum has also been making a name for himself in recent times on the DNB circuit with a huge remix recently featured on the Jungle Cakes Label for Ed Solo & Deekline and more recently Raider Records.

The collaboration is a big one and we have 3 storming slabs of amen friendly DNB to sink your teeth into

1 “Beautiful Girls”

Dropping in to open the EP a barrage of classic Jamaican drums and sirens lead us to the exciting vocals and percussive sounds.

Encompassing trumpets and bass guitar this one has it all.

A Switch up to a half speed Jazz`Esque stop turns quickly into driving bass and drums.

This one is simmered to perfection. A whole vibe feeling for this one and a track that is sure to be a permanent fixture to any set.

2 “Praise”

Next up, No its not fatboy slim. but of course more Jinx & Kalum with uplifting pianos and space like effects running right up to an old school sounding vocal to bring you to the first drop.

In what can only be described as `stepper` This one will have you covered the lengths and breadths of the dance floor in no time.

We keep the vibe simple on this one with an outburst of energy and nostalgia as we hit another breakdown leading to more exceptional dancefloor fodder to take you out.

3 “Rubber Bands”

Heavy on the Percussion to start this one and what a way to end this fantastic collaboration of the minds in a solid EP on Straight Up Audio.

A hip-hop vox leads the way with more classic hip hop sounds into a bass drop that will no doubt fill your body with vibrations no matter where you are standing from the speaker stack.

A true masterpiece release for the label and we cannot wait to hear you all drop these on the dance.

Rubber Bands EP is out exclusively on Juno & Spotify November 23rd and everywhere else 30th November
