Multiplex x KNARS - Snacks - Many Minds of Multi / MMOM01

Harlem based MC Multiplex releases ‘Snacks’, it’s first in a series of new music


Harlem based MC Multiplex releases his self-written music for the first time. After more than 20 years of experience in the music scene and being one of the most renowned bass-music MCs of his generation, it’s time to release his own music. This is unique in itself, because not many MCs walk this path.


Telling his story

Multiplex wrote a couple of songs, resulting in an EP (which will be released later this year) to tell his story: presenting Multiplex for the first time. The role of an MC in the drum-‘n-bass scene is to hype up the crowd with loads of energy and freestyling rhymes. There is not much opportunity to co-produce. But Multiplex is a man of many layers, truly a ‘multi’ and wants to tell his story.


Since he was living in squat houses at the age of fifteen, music has always been a way of expressing himself. Many years ago he wrote music, but after a burglary, all of his work has been stolen. He was hesitant to start over but Covid practically gave him no escape: all of his gigs were cancelled.


This track is about our love for snacks

The song Snacks is part of a series of songs which work as an EP. Snacks is the first song which will be released in the series of his new music releases this year. He chose on purpose for something lightweight and fun: ‘’We wanted to reach for something more fun and lightweight. We felt like after Covid people are done with depressive songs and want something to smile at.’’ Snacks is a collaboration with raveband KNARS. Mentor KNARS took Multiplex under his wing and tutored him with the finer details of lyricism and song writing as a studio MC. Together they wrote the tune Snacks. Presenting Multiplex for the first time, telling his story.


Multiplex: ‘’When you listen to this song, we hope you laugh at our audacious lyrics, and smile by the idea of you slaying some extra dance moves while we bring the bass in and invite you for a free snack at our live shows’’.
