Myselor - Eternal Energy - Cause4Concern Recordings / C4CDIGUK067

This spring, Berlin-based DJ/producer Myselor marks his debut on esteemed drum and bass label Cause4Concern with the gripping new release “Eternal Energy”.

Recently taking the scene by storm with a string of no-holds-barred releases on Black Sun Empire’s Blackout Music NL including a raucous rendition of their song “Breach”, the burgeoning Greek musician has already carved a niche for himself with his signature breed of convulsing steppers, each of his creations brimming with intricate details and shapeshifting synths.

No stranger to the C4C roster despite this being his first full-fledged signing, the multi-genre talent – who also explores his more ambient inclinations under the alias Syban – first appeared on Optiv’s sister label Red Light Records back in 2017 with the two-track triumph “Effulgence”, and has since contributed to Ephyum’s “Black Clouds” remix EP in 2020 to rave reviews.

True to form, “Eternal Energy” is a masterclass in D&B production, weaving together worming basslines and entrancing stabs to make for effortlessly slick, yet undeniably neurofunk-inspired results. On the metaphorical flip side, meanwhile, comes a remix of Optiv and CZA’s 2016 anthem “Cell Dweller”. Preserving the essence of the original mix while opting for a decidedly skippier slant on its rhythms, this stuttering spin on the track finds pulverising basslines set atop a bed of staccato chords, bustling arpeggios and crisp drum programming to create a versatile instrumental guaranteed to get the dancefloor moving.
