New label alert! If the name sounds familiar then you’ve probably seen #Bowlcut Garms being worn on the dance-floor. The cheeky clothing label has come good and is now releasing DnB music to get the dance-floor moving.
#BowlcutBeats001 is a Bristol affair. Mysterious new Producer #TallOrder teams up with vocal legend #DreadMC on the EP title track, #HoldYourCorner. Expect rave stabs, rolling amens and #DreadMCs instantly recognisable patois vocals that give the tune a ferocious feel whilst maintaining a musical vibe that is both intelligent and deep. The second single off the EP is again by #TallOrder and showcases his diversity in the studio in the form of #Fragment. #Fragment is more lowkey than the title track but it hits the listener with a memserising hook and then delivers a slap of deep bass to the face. This EP is accompanied by a remix from fellow Bristolian #Kyrist who has been making waves for a while and she delivers a knockout remix on #HoldYourCorner. Her remix comes with a dark and techy version of the original, an uplifting, dance floor tune but maintains the original elements of the original whilst delivering her own trademark darker sound.
#BowlcutBeats are just getting started, expect a busy few months of new music which will shake up the DnB World. Definitely a label to keep your eye on.
