Undersound makes a swift return to the label with a fat slice of Drum & Bass entitled '#Memoirs', hot off the back of his amazing debut multi-genre LP '#NoMoreShootingStars' released on #NexGen back in April.
Title track '#Memoirs' features the distinguished vocals of #BellaCollins who dazzles you with her dreamy blues-infused vocal style. Warm synths, pads and vox lead the intro before dropping into a twisted bass funk rinse-out.
'#Challenger' proceeds with a creepy horror-film like symphony and makes no attempt to disguise its dark intentions. Exorcise your demons with this rollin' beast.
'#BulletBusBoogie' is a tenacious throwback to Undersound's 2012 stomper '#TakeMeThere,' with this rework taking on a slightly deeper and trepidatious undertone. The funky essence of the original remains and certainly does not disappoint as an equally high-energy dance floor roller.
'#CleverGirl' begins with mysterious cinematic soundscapes, but quickly develops into a mixture of heavy bass sludge and fierce drums sprinkled with disturbing vox snippets to augment its eerie intentions. Pure anger is unleashed in this hair-raising roller.
All four tracks do the business without doubt, evocative of his work under Casey Jones on the Dark Star EP released earlier this year.
