With a massive fifteen exclusives, #Korsakov are about to unleash the second part of their self-titled compilation series and it once more highlights why they’ve become such a recognisable force across the drum & bass world. Already unleashing singles from both #TeddyKillerz and anonymous producer #Raiser, they return for the full package and it’s an eye watering selection of music. Although this can only be expected from an events brand which has expanded astronomically over the past two years, with the artists showcased on their album proving their influence, not just across their base in Holland but also further afield.
Following the releases of #TeddyKillerz ‘#BFG’ and #Raiser’s ‘#Uppercut’, both raucous club tracks, #Korsakov continues with the same vibe throughout the album, especially with tracks like #Smooth’s ‘#Capacitator’. Subsequent to his debut LP on #Korsakov, #Droptek returns with the sounds of ‘#Vexed’, channelling his expert production. Newcomer #Madster offers the percussive, half time movements of ‘#Blunderbuss’, whilst #Blackley and #Sublimit provide jump-up flavours throughout ‘#AdaptorDie’. Historic outfit #Cause4Concern then come through with the murderous undertones of ‘#MoreComplex’. Sevilla based duo #DubElements then drop the twisting ‘#SheWasaRobot’ which is followed in quick succession by #CurrentValue’s destructive cut ‘#ENDGAME’.
Meanwhile, Russian stalwarts #Gydra’s cutthroat style is clear throughout ‘#VerseTojin’, then #JamesMarvel’s ‘#SpecialK’ peddles gritty LFOs throughout its mix. #MeanTeeth’s ‘#Subtitles’ smashes through in the snapping, minimal style which they’re renowned for and they once again highlight how #Korsakov have brought together influences from across the globe. Then the infamous project from #Coppa and #L33 ‘#LightsOut’ presents brand-new record ‘#Potent’, just as carefully honed as its predecessors with the same snarling musicality. #ACray’s ‘#Please’ brings yet more historic producers into the fray, then finally, #ErbNDub and #TonyAnthem draw the album to a close with ‘#MonstaStomp’, featuring #MCCoppa on vocals once more.
It’s a goliath collection of music and it’s something which #Korsakov have championed from the very first part of their series. But this time they’ve reached new heights, something they’ve strived to do from the beginning; if you’ve visited any of their club nights and their enormous crowds, this has been clearly visible.
